Oh MY STARS AND GARTERS- forgot I had started this blog. Methinks it's time to actually use it, even if no one else reads it.

If you you find this funny you'll probably like me :)

Ziggy: Everytime I hear a strange noise, I have a zombie panic attack.
Lusty: What is it with you and zombies?!
Ziggy: Are you not afraid of zombies?
Lusty: They don't exist.
Ziggy: That's what they think in movies too.
Ziggy: Right before the invasion.....

Screw Fox News and (most) of MSNBC

I'm so weary of these two. I've continued to watch both, but in smaller doses as time goes on. I'm sick of the prime time hosts and their sycophantic guests. I give points to O'Reilly for at least having some folks on with opposing viewpoints, but his sense of self-importance and his condescension make me switch him off within about 3 minutes. Not even going to start with Hannity, Cavuto and (the batshit crazy) Glen Beck- fair and balanced, my ass. The Faux News morning crew is not even deserving of pity. They make me cringe.

MSNBC's daytime coverage is much better than the a 2-headed beast they have working from 8-10 pm. Olbermann and Maddow have become almost as annoying as the Fox bunch since Obama was elected, an arrogance that was there before, but now with too much added smug for my tastes. Keith was a voice of truth for many years, but now I just watch the "Worst Person in the World" online to avoid the rest of the show.

2 things good about MSNBC- Norah O'Donnell and Morning Joe, (ironically the most conservative show on the network)

Poor CNN. The best talent and the least watched. Jounalists Anderson Cooper, Christiane Amanpour, Jack Cafferty and Campbell Brown deserve better and so do we.

Still can't stand Larry King :D

Greetings and Salutations

It seems appropriate that my first foray into the this corner of the blogosphere should be about language. You'll find that I write almost exactly like I speak, so grammar nazis are gonna have a field day with me. Oddly, I feel quite the opposite about spelling...mostly. I spellcheck everything, but there are certain words I stubbornly continue to use despite knowing I'm using them incorrectly, (such as "thru" for "through"). Hey, everybody's got quirks, so shaddup :) I have been a voracious reader since I was a wee lad, so my vocabulary is pretty extensive for someone who barely graduated high school, but in the last decade or so I've been influenced by 2 primary styles of communication. First there is Buffyspeak, a tough one to explain, but if you are a fan of Joss Whedon you'll get my drift. The second and more recent is teh interweb-speak. As in "teh interweb." I blame the Lolcats for that one. Teh damn Cheezburger-craving kittehs.

O.K., not the most impressive post ever, but it's a start. I have no clue what comes next, so hope you enjoy the ride.
